Parrsboro Cottage 4x6

Parrsboro Lighthouse 4x6 pen and ink
Ahhhhhh......Parrsboro.
Indescribable, but you can imagine. We had relaxing and fun week at the cottage, took some day trips, ate great seafood, read books and just looked out at Cape Blomidon and the beautiful view.
Even after all these years, I have never tired of the stunning (really-even though that's an overused word now-it applies here) vistas everywhere.
This sketch of the lighthouse is one of the better ones I did this week. Also did a couple of watercolors and took a thousand more photos ;)  I HAD to ;)
Stay tuned.....

Fire Light

"Firelight"  $125 plus $10 S&H

I've been wanting to do a nocturne (night painting) but procrastinated in my usual fashion until this month's GJWP challenge which was FIRE. I knew I wanted to paint this scene of Joanie reading by the fire from our trip to Parrsboro a few years ago. The half moon was hanging over the Bay of Fundy and the pink of the setting sun was upon the horizon. That was a memorable trip. Click on the buy link beneath the painting to purchase.

"Strawberry Shortcake"

Check out my fellow travelers at Girls Just Wanna Paint to see their versions of 'Summer Desserts'.
It was a beautiful day in Parrsboro today after days of fog and rain. We took a ride "down shore" to Advocate. Fantastic landscape along winding roads with vistas of towering cliffs over the Bay of Fundy. Spectacular!

Cloud Shimmer 6x6 SOLD

Same view as before but with the full tide and some distant rays of sun lighting up those cumulus clouds, high over the Bay of Fundy. It's hard to remember not to keep mashing brush strokes on top of one another. It dulls the color and creates mud. The most saturated orange in this, is the underpainting, of which I'm a big fan. It unifies the work and facilitates color vibration. This felt good to paint.
