Angel Foods

"Angel Foods"
12x12 oil on birch panel

Provincetown has always been a special place to me. Located at the very tip of Cape Cod and surrounded by dunes and water, its natural beauty and shimmering light have long attracted artists and seekers of nature.
My sister and her family lived there during the late 70's and early 80's and I have always found everything about this town, enchanting.
visit regularly to paint and enjoy and to participate, in PAAM's member's shows and events. This is my submission to their annual 12x12 silent auction which runs from April 25th to June 26.
"Angel Foods" is a funky market which is actually across the street from the Art Association. I always admire their front window and it seemed just the right format for my painting.

Jackson and Reagan- 12x12 commission

I picked up my new MacBook Pro last night and I am making my first post from it. I really LOVE it.
::::sipping the kool-aid:::::::::: and I think I'm going to like it more when I see what it can do :D
This commission was done for a lovely woman who befriended me while I was on my Painting Safari by the River last September. Lots of people walk their dogs there and I met them all.
I delivered it yesterday and she was very pleased.

Scooter

Scooter, "Eye On The Ball" 12"x12"
Although it is to be gift to Lindsey and David on their wedding next Sunday, I feel reasonably safe posting this painting of our Grand Daughter's Yorkie, Scooter. They don't read my blog. I know. Huh?
Also, come to our Soiree next  Friday evening and see 80 of our challenge paintings displayed at the James Library.

Classic Bug and Painting Classes

12x12 oil on Birch

I couldn't resist painting a much larger version of this classic Volkswagen with the Peace sign in the back window. Fabulous and really fun to paint! Some paintings seem to paint themselves.
I've also revamped my look here using Blogger's new template to add one of my favorite features, the blogroll with thumbnails. How can one resist those images? So tempting. It isn't complete yet so if you aren't on there it's because it has to be edited one blog at a time and I have a lot of links. Now you can add up to 10 pages on your blog so check out my Paintings for Sale and Sold Work pages. I also have a class planned for which I'm working out the details. Stay tuned......

Provincetown Shed

 Truro Gem 12x12
I've painted this iconic Truro cottage before because it is just too cool. This is one of the paintings I will be showing in my upcoming "Shed Show" on MacMillan Wharf in Provincetown. In addition to a great selection of paintings, including my daily 6x6 blog paintings I've also done up a selection of cards and matted prints of my work in various (easy to frame) standard sizes ;)
The dates are Monday, July 18th through Sunday July 24th from 10-whenever. Stop by and see me!

Beach Boys

 SOLD
I actually began this painting months ago and had almost completed the figures and most of the foreground sand and water when I stopped to do some domestic diva stuff like cook dinner.  It seems ridiculous now because the FOF factors, Fear of Finishing and Fear of Failure, took over like they do and it languished. Anyway, I took it to the finish today.
I'm not sure if I am satisfied with the area above the heads of the kids. Is it interesting enough or does it need a tweak? You tell me. From now on when I'm on a roll I'm going to call in sick to the kitchen ;)

Days Cottages, Truro

This looks like the same painting I posted on June 25th but it's a larger copy done for Provincetown Art Association's annual 12x12 Auction. The bidding ends in early September so don't be late :D

Red Hot 12x12

Another painting for my 12x12 show. Sorry, I'm unable to be clever with the title since I'm still painting like mad.
Also, apologies to my followers for some recent posts that have gone out in email when I pushed the publish button, only to have to delete the post due to some glitch caused by Blogger, which has changed its posting format just enough to cause confusion ;)

The Gift 12x12

I am back from Mexico with a tan my dermatologist will have a fit over. Back in my studio yesterday, I put a few finishing touches on this painting. I was also given a beautiful assortment of flowers by my dear friend, Teak and can't wait to begin using them in my still life set ups.

White Mums and Stripes

Still my favorite flowers. So much drama with white! I have been honored with bloggy awards by two of my fellow artist bloggers which I'll get to tomorrow. The blogosphere is a great place to be!

White Mums and Stripes 12x12 WIP

I bought this wonderful fabric at Building #19 for $2.00 a yard.  They even had some Waverly for $3.00 a yard. Such a deal! I'll be finishing this up tomorrow and starting the next one on my painting marathon. For those of you who got an empty post in your email with this title, I apologize. I hit something and off it went unfinished.

Three Green Apples 12x12

SOLD

I'm painting 12x12's for a show I'm having in November so I've filled the studio with flowers and produce and set up a corner with black out drapes on the windows where I can control the lighting. It's too cool! Much to do here ;{
