Spencer's Island, Nova Scotia
4x10 watercolor
I made this little sketch in pen and ink before doing the painting. Some elements have been eliminated to showcase the smooth water and Spencer's Island which is off to the left. This is where the Mary Celeste was built. I often wish I could go back in time and see what this land looked like during the Age of Sail.

Very beautiful. I am headed your way in Sept. I so wanted to get to see the Bay of Fundy, but may only get as far as Lubec Me. I almost missed coming here from your comment on my blog, because the comment only was on an image, not the post.
I also want to go back in time at times… to see & feel what things looked like :-)
A beautiful scene!!!! An excellent watercolor Mary!!
This is so beautiful in its simplicity. We just left Cape Breton and are now in PEI for a few days. I need to paint, thanks for the inspiration!!
