White Dove 6x6 Oil on Gesso Board |
What do you all think?
Yesterday I went over to the Bonita Springs Art Festival to visit my friend JoAnn Sanborn who has painted the Everglades in all seasons for many years. She looked mah-velous and it was a beautiful day for the show. I'm looking forward to going down this week to visit her studio at the Esplanade on Marco Island.

the painting is masterful..how can you do this...very skilled in values ?
love to you MSW
I think this turned out so lovely. JoAnn's compositions remind me of Lori McNamara's work. Your day sounds lovely too!
Beautiful values:) Love the shiny quality you captured. Sounds like a wonderful day with a fun friend!
Always such fun to see you, Mary. Thanks for taking the lovey photo and for sharing it here. I love being compared to Lori! Looking forward to coffee soon.
I think you've nailed the reflected light and the shadow on the dpve, it's just perfect. And beautiful.
You beat me to it, commenting on mine before I got a chance on this one. My fault, should have done it last night when I got the email. Not that it's a contest... :)
Let's paint on the cape together this spring, OK?
Great color palette.
Wonderful work,Mary! The values are perfect. Great shading!
Lovely :-) I really like your style.
A day at the pool will cure a LOT. I love this little dove - the colors in the white are just breathtaking. And I love, and have been a fan of JoAnn for 5 years. She lives in an inspiring place and puts her heart and soul into each piece~
