Wendell WC and Ink
Wendell was modeling Sunday evening (his main job) and while I was scribbling away with a non art pen on my nice watercolor block, I was thinking,"why am I wasting this nice paper with this bad pen?" But, yesterday, in a nothing to lose kind of way, I added some watercolor and Voila!
I kinda like it. Perfect beach weather is keeping me from painting. It's a very small window ;) I included a close up of his eyelashes, which are adorable ;)

He IS adorable - and a good model! I like how you slip so easily back to watercolor - I did it for 10 years, and now I am terrified to touch it!
So nice and washy!
Wow, you have totally captured the cat! I can see his bushy tail. And what whiskers. Is he the cat in your blogger photo (which, by the way, I love)?
Awww. He's cute
You love bridges and I love cats! I have 3. "Wendell is Wonderful", sometimes it happens that way, not much planning and there you go, bad paper, good paper, whatever and it turns out just fine. I'll be back
Great cat gesture. I'd be at the beach too.
I love this effect with the watercolor. We had an Indy artist that used this technique and I just love it! Her name was Joni T. Johnson (1934-1988) I never met her, but when I was working in the frame shop, I framed some of her work. Wow...thanks for the memory!
I kinda like it too. It has a great loose furry feel to it. I used to use some colored pentel felt tip pens to draw then wet my finger and smugged for some areas. Leaves the finger a mess for a few days.
I love this piece and I miss you! Am enjoying catching up. Your recent work is fabulous!!!
This is a beautiful cat painting - that's a good attitude to have towards watercolour 'nothing to lose'!
