Star Burst 6x6
Finally, I cut the star fruit up and added the glass bowl and the knife. You can see how inspiring it is to paint the same subject over and over again. You get a feel for the structure and you've mixed the colors over and over. This is close to being finished after about 2 and a half hours getting the shapes and values right. Needs a bit more 'detail' (color spots) in the fruit and on the reflections in the bowl which is all but invisible in the set up. Today, I picked up a blue and white Oriental (fake) vase at the Flamingo Isle Flea Market in Bonita. It works beautifully with this set up. More to come.

Wow...your colors have really exploded! (in a GOOD way!!!) I also like the perspective on the knife and the fruit...if that makes sense!!!
I. LOVE. THIS.
Thank. You. Kelley.
:D
Love the punctuation emphasis.
I love that I wouldn't know that was fruit unless I'd been reading your earlier posts---stars are very special to me, and that looks like stars dancing in the sky with a comet zipping through. I know that a person shouldn't re-interpret another's painting, but even though I knew about the fruit, knife and bowl, I got a completely different "flash" from this.
well wow!!! Gosh they keep getting even more beautiful.
This does look inspiring! Lovely painting. I like the colors.

This is an AWEOME painting! I couldn't resist geting some starfruit recently, but I ate it before I painted it. Did consider though that I've never seen it painted.
