Picnic Tables and Lupine W/C 7x9
I sat on a small bluff next to our cottage and painted this watercolor looking towards the Pier which would be just slightly to the right of this frame. I think of this as more of a study, to grab some color notes and some practice on the spot. The little cottage with the red shutters is just a doll house and looks out over a large patch of Lupine to the Lighthouse. The view from my previous post, which I shot from behind this Lupine, is behind me. Heaven.

Nice! Welcome home! Thai soon.. and wine. :D
Hi Mary,
What a picturesque spot! I really like the lupine! It was nice to have you visit my blog!
This is a charming piece, Mary. Keep up the good work.
I love how you're documenting your travels! What a sublime place - makes me want to be there (when black fly season is over, though....). I love the drippiness of watercolor, don't you?
This is really beautiful. Cottage on an Island. Two of my favorite things. I can't wait to see more!
Wonderful painting. Reminds me so much of sitting by the water at Blue Hill Falls in Maine.
Such a peaceful scene, I could sit there a long time. Nice painting, Mary.
What a wonderful way to spend a couple of weeks! I love the colors in your paintings, I think you capture the feeling of each spot beautifully.
