We do, after all, have MacDonald roots from Antigonish on my mama's, mama's side.
While racking my brain for something to paint besides water, boats and trees I suddenly hit on a novel idea. The flag!
I really enjoyed working the back and forth in the creases and I adore the RED in the Maple Leaf!

I love how the light is hitting the flag and awesome folds in the material...wonderful work!
Beautiful painting, and a great nod to your heritage!
Lucky us! This is a spectacular painting, and a wonderful nod to your Canadian heritage. I love anything maple, even the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Very, very nice. The colors are wonderful. I love that flag too, so colorful and proud. I have a photo of it and the American flag hanging on a fence at Niagara on the Lake. I thought maybe a married couple, one from each country lived there.
Okay Mary now you have made my day! I so love Nova Scotia! Parrsbaro! And of course the Maple Leaf Canadian Flag! Lower Five Islands! Great painting!
"Oh Canada!"
Some of my ancestor came from Ireland to USA via Nova Scotia!
Keep them coming!
Rock solid and an AWESOME job! I love Canada, too!
What a beautiful painting and I love how you painted the flag itself, Mary!!!
Very, very nice! Always! :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Good to see you there! xoxo
