Stacked Jelly
Kelly and Susan are usually slamming each other with jelly on Donut Mondays but today Kelley did a beautiful rainbow sprinkle number while Susan painted a fabulous chocolate frosted on a nifty patterned plate. I just ripped a jelly in half and stacked one piece on top of the other and then stuck a munchkin in there just for fun. I have a plethora of reds and was able to get these glorious glowing tones in my jelly using Thalo Red Rose, Quinacridone Red and Quinacridone Magenta mixed with Cad Yellow Med for that hot orange. I like to sneak up on the donut girls, unexpectedly. Guerrilla Donut Wars, you might say.

De bonne heure, vous me donnez l'eau à la bouche avec cette dernière peinture!!... Des nuances d'ocre-doré très organoleptiques!...
Gros bisous
What a delicious painting and a delicious description of the use of reds!
And SHE-BANG! Good one Mary.
You did sneak up on us and on Donut War day.
I need to spiff up on my warfare for better counterattacks:)
Yummy!!! And lovely!
Yummy! Looks soooo good and love the colors! You are a sneaky one!
Makes me want to hit up a donut shop in the morning -- Gorgeous eye candy!
Mary you were stealthy in your entrance into the donut war, this is a real beauty!
Good sneaking ... or oozing , as the case may be, what with jelly donuts and all!!!
Yummalicious! And that green is divine!
Guerilla doughnut wars....cracked me up. Loved hearing how you used the reds and they are gorgeous. You got the highlights just perfect:) The shadow under the doughnut is awesome.

Great painting! You're making me want a jelly donut now!!!
Wow! This is outrageous!
Mmmm, now I'm hungry too!
Beautiful work Mary!
Your donut is so so yummy. It must be those delicious reds and painterly brushstrokes. Great fun painting.

also forgot to mention the other day: thanks for always asking weather i've gotten new dogs. not yet. in the near future, i hope. i really do miss my dogs.
You're definitely a contender Mary! That glowing jelly makes me drool!
YUM! What gorgeous colors! :)
Awesome! Love your reds... fun! I'm following this donut war closely :)
I just started my diet, so thank goodness this one is on canvas! It's very realistic..beautifully done!!
Really fun... what a unique still life painting!
The highlights on the red makes it ooze right out of the doughnut. Delicious.
K.E.L.L.E.Y! I know you KNOW how to spell my name! And you are, indeed, the Queen of Reds. Any Red. Anyone ever need to know how to 'concoct' it - just ask Mary!!! She has reds I've never heard of, and it always comes out perfectly *right* in her paintings! And she is generous, and will share...
Cheers!
