This is a little dog I met recently down in the dunes by the River. I got that birds of a feather vibe from her human right away and she eventually asked me to do a painting of Reagan and Jackson in that setting. I did this from a photo I took of the two dogs in the water. Just playing around with the looseness and working with shapes and color. I think my favorite part of this is the way the light shows the shape of her head.

Nice, Mary! You can really feel the sun hitting her body.
It's fantastic!!!!! Love your brushwork!
Well, you know we love the dog! She's very exciting.
I love "the looseness" of the piece and the light bouncing around...decisive strokes...yeh!!
Wow, this brushwork and color has this guy jumping off the page! ...very nice

I love that you captured that "I'm about to have some major fun but better check to see if it is ok with mom" look!
Beautiful color and brushwork as always!
Love this little dog...great feeling of how a dog just never stays still. I can practically feel him shaking the water off any second now!

Lovely dog portrait. I wish I could paint as loosely as you. You are so talented!!! :D
I love the expressiveness of her body language! She does look like she's checking with her humans before having some fun. So cute!
You really captured the energy of the dog! Fun!
Wonderful! I can see her tail wagging, too!
I love the brushstrokes. The looseness of the style and the reflection! Wonderful work!
