My 'kids' left to go home to Naples but we had a wonderful time and the weather couldn't have been better. Very unusual summer here in New England. Today I got back on the horse so to speak. I say this whenever I haven't painted in a while and it's true. It's almost like I've never painted at all.

I SO know what you mean! Although you'd never know it from this painting. Maybe a little shy in the confidence department, but it's adorable! Humidity is back here in RI. Yuck. Yuck. HEY! Are you around for a Gerard's lunchie tomorrow?
I would say it's more like riding a bike for you, this is wonderful. I especially like the way you painted the petals,

Yeah, I agree..still looks good Mary.I like your metaphor, getting back on the horse, i call it 'making some crepes'..the first one or few don't come out so well, once the pan is hot and even they are better
I love cosmos. My yard is full of them right now.
It is wonderful that you know cosmos, Mary! Do you know it as a wildflower in the fields, like the northern parts of South Africa? Or is it a cultivated garden flower over there?
Not by the looks of this wonderful piece Mary!!

Silly me - thought I was commenting on this and was on my own. So here it is:
Hi Mary! Thanks for commenting on my donut war - so fun! And discovered your blog now.
Love your fauvist color palette - similar to my dear friend, Peggy Zuris who passed away 2 years ago. Fond memories.
