This turned out to be a chase to get the values. I do like the shell and that's the look I was trying to get with the cup. There is more white waiting.

This turned out to be a chase to get the values. I do like the shell and that's the look I was trying to get with the cup. There is more white waiting.

Oh, white is SO hard - in shadow especially! But to me, yellow is harder! You did a great job with the reflected light. The darks probably were a little darker, but it's a cheery and colorful painting for a 'white' subject!
There is something very appealing about this painting...I like the high key and light color palette
