Yellow Mums Study 8x8
Yesterday I went to Kelley's Studio to paint and meet her adorable baby boy Pug, Paco, who became my new best friend. We lunched at a nearby diner and then painted these mums. I was going to wipe this but, I think I'll wait. It can always go into the burn pile later. I'm hoping we can have a big bonfire on the beach this Summer/Fall at Nanny's beach house and get rid of all those 'monkey on my back',unfinished or bad paintings. Sometimes you have to purge. It took me forever to get this poor photo of this painting.

Actually, I think this is very nice! I can tell you carefully chose a color scheme and the simple graphic brushstrokes are left pretty pure
I like it too, although I think you're right that's it good to purge now and then. It's a relief at the time not to have to salvage a piece, or make it work. However, I've destroyed more than one piece that I've later regretted. Sigh.
Love these sunny mums....been to the studio yet?
Love the Mums.
Great colors.
It looks to me like there's a subliminal message either in that painting or in your note. I don't know why but "bitch" keeps coming into my head when I look at the post.
Nice little simple painting...let it live! I love those burn pile fires too, though, very theraputic...
Mary's Apples is reallllly a great little painting too!
You have been working hard and it shows...
I like this pieces, the cools and the warms. And, I really like the apples from the last post.
I can attest that the painting looks WAY better IRL. It's what my painting aspires to! Mary - no emails seem to be able to get to you from me. I've sent 5 from one account and 2 from another. Keep bouncing back as 'undeliverable'....
