On Pins and Needles
Having a great finished painting is not the point of a workshop and anyone who goes away from one disappointed at not having a piece they can sell, is missing the point. I kept two of my value studies to prop in my studio and look at, so I can remember the particular points I made in my last post. Like, the elements that you tend to forget in the excitement of trying to capture your vision. The work. If you map it out, you have a better chance at getting it. If you plunge into it without a plan, it probably won't work.

So right, so true! Hey! Is that you with your arm around Carol Marine in her post? Are you just trying to make some GPS people crazy jealous?????
Hi Mary, I took Carol's workshop 3 weeks ago in Westford, Ma. She really was fantastic. I learned more in those 3 days than in the past 2 years that I've been painting.
I love your work... the colors, compositions, all great!
Wise words ... lovely work!
Sounds like you had a fabulous time AND learned a lot. I love your work AND her work.... saw some of it in person in Frank Gardner's gallery.
Be well
...another WOW...
Wow is right. This "Pins and Needles" painting looks great. Thanks for the reminders from the workshop!

Wonderful! I love the energy of your brush strokes and the bright colors together.
Oh, that just gave me such a jolt---my Nanny always had one of those near her, and I haven't seen another in years.
I'd paint my dining room red, if I had one, just to hang that.
I LOVE this! I have been an avid sewer since I was 10 and I always had one of these little pin cushions around! Good job!
Okay, I must have commented on another similar one, but this is gorgeous.
I really like this one, terrific!
Oh! Love this painting! I've used the same tomato pin cushion since I took sewing in home-ed in 1971.
