Battleship Massachusetts WIP
I'm flirting with danger by posting this work in progress. Sometimes it's the kiss of death, but I feel good about this one. It's been in my mind for over a year. Today, I went into the sky around the bridge and worked on firming up the shapes of the buildings and marina on the left. I'm not sure I'm getting what I want for colors but I'm going to keep on it. This is a 12X16, which is large for me.

This is coming along great Mary - and yes, once they all go home again we miss them but we can get things done! I think you are really brave to tackle this one but its shaping up really well so far. I think you are right to take your time with it as it is an ambitious subject.
I love the colours Mary---it feels so nautical which I guess in the circunstances, is a good thing.
And yes, I do know how to speel circumstances.
You are TOO MUCH! I opened your blog, and without even reading the title I said - hey - that's MY Battleship and Bridge! Keep going, don't listen to all the accolades just paint - you're doing great! The composiion is perfect.
I love this painting so far. It is big for you, but keep at it. It is such a recognizable spot it should be a popular painting to reproduce. See I am always looking at things with $$$ in my eyes. Love Auntie
This is looking great!
this is very good Mary !!!
Good work Mary, I really liked your painting!
Ciao!!!
I love the mood. You are obviously on a roll with this.
Great start! Looking forward to seeing the final results :)
Glad you feel good about it. Looking good to me. ;-)

It's looking great!
Wow...this is a departure in subject matter for you? I LOVE it.
Mary - Thank you for your great comment about my last painting. I love that you think it "rocks"! These bridge paintings do to. Love the colors. You've made a potentially drab subject very atmospheric and beautiful. Well done! You and Mr. Whistler....
