Cape Blomidon
I am in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia for a week painting with two of my friends. We are staying in the same cottage that my hubby and I visit each summer. This is the first time I've been up here in the Fall and it's just wonderful. This was painted during the mid afternoon when the light was slightly overcast and the water appeared in total glare. I plan to paint it again and again this week.

Wow, this is great, kind of stark lonely feeling but beautiful...
Mary, this is so striking on your blog, but I'll tell you all two things - #1 it's even more gorgeous in person, the subtle nuances in the sand bars fairly sparkle, and #2, this is an accurate description of this gorgeous place. The tides here rise & fall 50 FEET every day!
Lucky you. Come back with lots of them. Love the abstractness about it.
Very nice painting. Looks like a magical scene. Continue to have fun painting with your friends.

Cold and beautiful yet not a pretty picture. Nature indifferent to man.
nice one!! lucky you! I'm comin in the Thule next year! :D
Beautiful composition. The simplicity of this type of landscape has a very powerful presence just because of it atmospheric qualities. We visited nearby Joggins, NS last summer. Surreal place. Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy painting!
