I'm posting this detail of an almost finished painting because there is a design flaw in another part of the painting that needs to be fixed. The flaw is that there are several angles that converge too abruptly as well as a few shapes in the foliage (grrrr) that repeat themselves too statically. Part of the problem is that I didn't stop to figure out where I was going off and kept painting. WRONG ;) I think I know what I have to do to get out of it with the painting intact. I'll post the before and after when I finish it and you can decide. There will be some for whom the detail was the whole painting and they might not see the need to add anything ;)

Beach House detail

BTW, I took just shy of 50 shots of this painting and could not get a good one. The colors, I'm pleased to say are deeper and richer than the photo portrays.
I love the image that you've posted...could you just trim it down? I won't tell anyone!

I see my comment would be redundant at best! Crop it girl! Take the best and frame it! it's gorgeous.
I do that, too -- keep painting without stopping to check proportions, etc., and then discover it (almost) too late! I like seeing the canvas texture in this detail.
