Beach House 6x8

In reality this is more than a 'beach house'. It's a mansion actually, as are most of the beach houses here in Naples,Florida. I resolved the awkward angles by working out the foreground. Again, I'm not able to get a really good photo of this. What do you think ? This painting is listed on eBay as item number 170199655887. I have to figure out how to create the link.

Thank you so much for visiting my new blog!

I have a real fondness for painting - and really love the looseness of your brushstrokes. Beautiful!

Mary,
I really like the feel of this painting, love the looseness of the brushstrokes and the color variation within the same values. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of medium do you use?
Thanks,
Faye

I really like the way you broke up the canvas in this painting. Architecture can often be overwhelming and I like that you didn't feel the need to include the whole house.

Thanks for the kind comments you left on my blog!

I've put this up on eBay but somehow I couldn't get the link to stand alone. Hmmm. I used to know how to do that.

I managed to add an eBay link at the top right of the page. I know there is a better way to do it. I'll figure it out.

Just to clarify what rdl asked. The top painting is the finished version. The bottom painting needed a bunch of work to break up the awkward angles in the grass and the sharp angle on the house which echoed the angle of the roof.
As far as the color goes. It's the same in both shots but I had a hard time getting a good shot of this painting.

It really transports me to the West Coast of Florida! You captured the light of a certain part of the day there.

Hi Mary, Love your colors. Very suggestive and beautiful. They perfectly convey a tropical setting.
