Fort Revere, Hull Massachusetts
I've been conspicuously absent these past several weeks first vacationing in Mexico and then coming home to various chores and duties that have kept me from my paints. Procrastination even. Yesterday I put the finish on this painting started on site at Fort Revere in Hull, about 3 weeks ago. I like architecture but this thing drove me crazy with all it's planes and values and temperature changes. I am a harsh critic of my own work and can see room for improvement here, but overall I feel I captured the feeling of the day which was freezing for September.
I also started a panorama of the Lighthouses and the Boston Harbor Islands which is marinating in my studio while I ponder on where to take it, without losing the initial flow of the 'start'.
How about those Red Sox ;)

I love coming here with my eyes shut, and finding such a lovely surprise.
Great to have you back! What a great spot this is...how lucky are we to have all these wonderful places to visit? (and of course, paint!) I really like this painting...you did a great job!
Procrastination(i can hear it playin in my head).
nice painting!!
Go Sox!!
I think you did a great job with the architecture. I'm so very glad you're back. Now I have to get back, too. :)
Your painting of Fort Revere is very nice.

Hey Mary,
Just got back from vacation and was glad to see your comments on my blog..are these Sox making you wild or what? I was actually at game 1 of the ALCS and was one of the guys on the Green monster who lowered that giant American flag. I got some unbelievable photos and have begun a massive Fenway park panoramic oil painting (My winter project). Of course they are going to win it all. YOOOOOOK!!!
All the best, Go Sox,
Todd
Yo Todd, I'm loving your Soxtober mood :D
Can you believe it? Young folk are going to grow up thinking this is normal ;) And you know what? It should be and will be :D
