Every painting is a learning experience. I tried to paint these olives on the 'infamous' octagonal plate, but had to wipe out the plate and create some draping. I aspire to do draping like Qiang Huang whose link is at the right. Practice makes perfect.

did you wing the plate across the room? and i'll have mine straight up/ice on the side. :D
I'm actually bringing that plate home with me so I can continue to torture myself :D
That's right, we LOVE to torture ourselves! Mar, those olives are ADORABLE!
Kells, welcome home !
Yes, the agony must continue because I know I have it in me ;) You KNOW!
Aren't so fun? You did a great job!

hey Mary you posted 3 olives too!! they are fun to paint. I love the colors in your paintings.
Deb,
thanks for the color compliments. I love mixing those pungent greens.
When I saw yours I did a double take. Thought I was on my own page :D
I feel another olive painting in the near future.
Nice painting, keep up the good work.

Love the olive painting, Mary. It's probably better without the plate. I really like the painterly quality of your paintings.

Wanda, I'm pleased that I didn't wipe it off because that's my first, knee jerk thinking. Instead, I liked the olives and worked with them.
I still don't paint like Qiang but practice makes perfect.
Thanks for visiting!
