Winter Woods Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser

Winter Woods 5x5
SOLD @ DPW Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser
I did this yesterday while the wind howled and the ocean roared. Another Nor'easter, making the lives of those ravaged by Sandy even worse. My heart goes out to these people. I had a similar experience during the Blizzard of 1978 when a huge storm wiped out the house I was living in (on a skinny barrier beach) and sent me into a bout with homelessness. Of course, I had places to stay, but no home and that is a lonely feeling.
Carol and David Marine of Daily Paint Works are holding a fundraiser for the victims of the Hurricane and my painting has sold, so I'm going to put up another one. They are the most generous souls so go over and check out the paintings and help out.
Another fabulous art sale happening this weekend is at North River Arts Society. Their annual holiday sale draws crowds so get there early both days.
In true MSW fashion, I missed the deadline but will have all my small works priced right at my Open Studios NEXT weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 12-5.

J'aime énormément cette forêt hivernale... Les couleurs sont harmonieusement équilibrées... Une belle oeuvre.

I love this--the vertical feel of it and the beautiful brushwork. That gold has been my favorite color lately too.

Mary, I have to say this is one of my personal favorites so I am not surprised it is sold. Homelessness is definitely no fun. I too have been there. I know those benefiting from the generosity of all you wonderful artists are thankful.

Great colors, exciting. bold brush strokes help to make these last two works very successful.
Keep up the great work.

Very nice brushwork Mary. Beautiful colors. The photo is great and I am wondering what type of camera you have.

Mary! This is so beautiful! I have to tell you that I just saw Kelley Macdonalds post of Girls just wanna Paint and I love looking at y'alls art! I wish so much that I lived closer so I could paint with y'all! Anyway, I was sad that you did not paint a "hat!" I absolutely love the way you paint and when I saw the theme was hats I could hardly wait to see what you had created! I am a hat girl so I'm kind of into hats! Maybe you missed the october challenge, but you still need to paint a hat!!!! I would love it!!!! Ruthie
