Dunkin' Munchkins

Dunkin' Munchkins
This painting is a commission done from a similar painting, for a pair of sisters. I don't know who's going to end up with it but they are both DD fans. I admit I was hindered some (mentally) by having already done this same painting, but I set up my still life anyway and did it again. Hope I captured the same feeling that drew them to it.
Speaking of donuts, my dear girl Kelley has been down for the count with the flu and has not been able to lift her head to paint anything. But, check out her donut wars with the West Coast jelly slinger Susan Roden.

DD has announced that they're coming to Colorado. Don't know how to tell them that they already used to be here. Corner of Folsom and Canyon. I know that because A) I'm older than Dog, and/or B) I'm so old my memory is filling in the blanks willy-nilly.

Gypsy Woman, glad you are safe and sound in the south. Your DD's look too cute to eat!

Pink and orange...such lovely colors together! I love Dunkin' Donuts. I remember going there when I was pretty young. They've been around Illinois for many many years. We had one in Tacoma when I lived out there and it closed fairly quickly after I found it. Sigh...Have to say, donuts and coffee are just so darned good together! Wonderful painting, Mary!

This came out great Mary--love the rich colors and the composition. Made me think of Kelley-THE DD girl!

I think you managed a repeat of the energy and fun. I'm sure it wasn't easy. Cause though it looks carefree, anything with trademark type takes care, attention and a sure hand.
