I go to the beach later in the afternoon and I always wait for the sun to set which is a big deal here. The West coast of Florida is like an Island where the sun sets into the Gulf of Mexico. People start showing up with their coolers and dinners and beach chairs around 5 o'clock and everyone settles in for the show. Here's a little sketch from the beach last Wednesday and a shot of the star of the show.

Love the sketch, Mary!
Of course, you realize what an amazing spot on this planet you live in!
What is it about white men watching the sun go down? We do it on Sunset Point on Oahu, too. We'd also take furniture and supper, but beer is all we can manage on the bikes.
Mary, I do like your sunset photo and all your art. I'm signing up to follow your blog and look forward to seeing more of your work. Doug
Just like on Captiva! I wish I was there with you. It's too cold up here.
Beach Sunset is gorgeous, you've got the watercolor, pen, and ink down.
A sunset is a sunset... and I love them all! Nice photo! And I love the purple-y shadows in your sand in the painting! Sounds like a fun party.
Such a fun piece, Mary. I used to live in Tampa and boy, do I miss my cocktails on beach at sunset. Thanks for the memory.
Ah, great photo, and I love the direction you are taking in painting--fun, energetic and lively!
