These were so much fun to paint that I had another go at them. When I set up a still life I think about the colors I'll use and then choose a background of complimentary colors to create color vibration. This time I put the donuts on an orange plate I got at Job Lot and used the green tissue paper to set off the orange. That way I can use lots of funky colors like lavenders and violets in the donuts and they still look real. At least they do, to me ;)

OK, you have to stop eating those KILLER donuts! I think someone should buy this one AND the last one - they'd look slamming hanging together!
I want one!
Definitely do look like donuts. Great use of color.
Hi Mary,
Just took your suggestion to drop by and
see your donuts. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
I'll six of the plain and 6 of the jelly filled.
Great paintings by the way.
I'm getting closer to painting, thanks for
the sugary inspiration.
Great painting--I would never think of jelly donuts (and now I can't stop). Thanks for sharing the tissue paper idea (!)--it's sheer brilliance!
I loved all your still life paintings..you have a distinctive style!
