Edge of the Marsh #2

Click to bid
This is my second painting from our wonderful day on the farm, done between 5 and 7 pm when the light is best. If you wonder why I didn't paint the actual animals or the buildings it's because I wanted to concentrate on a simple composition with atmospheric perspective. Besides, the animals move ;)

I liked the other one, but THIS is my absolute favorite. You let go of all 'directives', and just let it flow. Cool. And our foray into Gallery World on Saturday was just the best. Still recovering...

Hi Mary! Thanks for visiting my Blog site and for your compliments. Two Voices is...about poetry and painting...but it's more about a single journey. I have joined as a follower. I love the painterly...almost abstract quality of your work in combination with your vibrant use of color! Cheers!

I really like these two tree paintings, especially this one! Nice color ... peaceful but with lots of energy. Very evocative of a late summer afternoon. I LOVE it!

(You're right, animals tend to be very UNcooperative when you're trying to paint from life!)

I hate to simply echo what everyone else has said, but these are just great, very painterly. I love the sky holes, the shape of the trees, the free use of color. You are onto something here, Mary. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Bold color, bold brushwork, peaceful composition. Very inviting. I can't take my eyes off it.
