Star of the Day 6x6

"Star of the day", was the song that was sung to the Winner on the original (in the Boston area) reality talent show, 'Community Auditions'. It aired Sunday mornings live, and showcased an array of baton twirling, tap dancing and musical offerings. Yes, someone at Channel 5 thought of it first ;) Today I honed my skills on the star fruit but didn't get a photo during the daylight so I'm posting this shot of my setup with the painting. You can see some of the cool props I have waiting for me to paint. I also put a few finishing touches on "Star Burst", and another painting which I will post later. I find that once I'm warmed up, that's the time to pull a painting to finish. Since I usually use the same colors, they are already mixed on my palette and I can figure out what the painting needs and go right into it. It was fun.

Hey I remember that show...I haven't thought about it in so long! My cousin was a contestant, but alas, she did not get the song, "Star of the Day" sung to her. Glad you're getting warmed up and ready to go...that's a nice feeling!

"Star of the DAY... who will it be?
Will it be YOU?
Will it be ME?...."
I SO remember this, and actually my cousins the Donnelly girls performed on this in the 60's.
Thanks for the peek into your set up!

Okay, I'm in a little painting hiatus. I've been working with a little Art Boutique in 'Tin City' here in Naples. They just opened and I submitted some of my daily paintings which they accepted, and I'm getting some watercolors matted and wrapped for them.I also ordered up more cards and found a display for them at Office Depot.
Although business has not been brisk during my visits there. There have been some sales and the art is good. Most importantly, the staff is very engaged with the customers, in a friendly but not overbearing, way.

Oh, Mary, it looks GREAT! And such a nice gallery, too. I'm so happy for you - you GO girl! About the 'comments, etc' remember I had this problem - I couldn't comment OR click through any links from your site? I had to SWITCH to Mozilla, although your blog was the only blog EVER to give me those problems! So weird. Anyway, paint away!
