Mary, I love the texture, and the thickness of this...Like you, I love the strokes up close. At museums I am always the one with my nose 2 inches from the painting inspecting each stroke....I love seeing how it was actually put there....I am always sort of afraid there will be some sensor that sets off the alarm when I do that ;-) You can definitely tell this is New England in this painting!
