Edward Hopper fake 6x6

Copying a Master's work was the way students learned at some of the famous ateliers like Ecole des Beaux Artes. That link leads to a site about John Singer Sargent which is loaded with links to everything Sargent. Despite a good start here the devil was in the details as they say. There was a bit of a tilt to this when I photographed it so it looks a tad crooked on the left. It's not. This is my first fake. I kinda like it.

LOVE it. I always enjoy doing my own 'fake' for the Spring Bull Show in Newport. You really do learn so much!

What size is the original Hopper? Nicely done.

Not the fault of your fake, but I would never have taken this for a Sargent. I am woefully unschooled.

Like I always tell my students. . .copy away!(yes, I said the C word!) pick your favorite painters and paintings and learn learn learn!
This came out really nice, I learned a lot from Edward too! Good work!

Lorna and Dawn, I think I confused you with the link.
When I Googled Ecole des Beaux Artes that JSSGallery.org site showed up and it was the most interesting of the choices.
Sharp eyes Lorna!
